Ghost of Graylock by Dan Poblocki

Does an abandoned asylum hold the key to a frightful haunting?
Everyone's heard the stories about Graylock Hall.
It was meant to be a place of healing - a hospital where children and teenagers with mental disorders would be cared for and perhaps even cured. But something went wrong. Several young patients died under mysterious circumstances. Eventually, the hospital was shut down, the building abandoned and left to rot deep in the woods.
As the new kid in town, Neil Cady wants to see Graylock for himself. Especially since rumor has it that the building is haunted. He's got fresh batteries in his flashlight, a camera to document the adventure, and a new best friend watching his back.
Neil might think he's prepared for what he'll find in the dark and decrepit asylum. But he's certainly not prepared for what follows him home. . . .
Scary, suspenseful, and surprising, Dan Poblocki's latest ghost story will keep you turning pages deep into the dead of night.

This book was a typical ghost story, it wasn't anything special. A boy searches an off-limits "haunted" asylum house thingy and encounters a ghost, boom. A scary ghost story. Honestly, I stayed up till like 2-3 AM reading this. Warning: Don't stay up reading a ghost story. Lesson learned. Anyways, I gave this book a 3.5 because it wasn't particularly a unique ghost story like Frozen Charlotte. But reading it did give me small chills so I thought it deserved 3.5 stars.
Neil had a typical personality of someone who was daring and adventurous and that led him to search for the "Ghost of Graylock Hall" for himself. Along with his sister and a few friends, he finds not only what he's looking for, but a little extra thing. Or a person. An unavenged murder. This book was a normal ghost story, but it did give me chills as I read it so I thought it was ok. In the end, I admit I slept with my light on. I wasn't exactly comfortable with the fact that I read a ghost story at like 2 AM in the morning. -w-''''
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy reading Thriller and Mystery books as I do. This book was a typical ghost story but it was a good one. I can say I did expect the ending and was able to guess everything out but it didn't stop the book from giving me chills. My only advice is to not read it under the covers at 2 AM in the morning. This book shows the love and trust of family, especially sibling relationships. Family is everything. Right?
