Sadie by Courtney Summers

A missing girl on a journey of revenge. A Serial―like podcast following the clues she's left behind. And an ending you won't be able to stop talking about.
Sadie hasn't had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she's been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.
But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie's entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister's killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him.
When West McCray―a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America―overhears Sadie's story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie's journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it's too late.

When my older sister asked if I wanted any new books for my kindle, I went on Goodreads to search for good mystery books. A bunch of Courtney Summers' other books caught my eye so when my sister told me she had gotten 'Sadie', I was excited since I wanted to read her other books. Unfortunately, this book turned out to be a huge disappointment and I spent more time being confused than actually enjoying the book.
I feel like it's just me who was super confused the other time, considering that this book was super popular and a lot of people enjoyed it, so it was probably just me. But this book just didn't compute through my brain and it just tried to pull off so much stuff without explaining anything. I had to constantly go back and reread everything because nothing made sense.
I know this book is really good but it's not for me. It was way too confusing and I feel like the author just expected you to understand right away without any context. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it but if you're interested, go for it. Just a warning, if you follow Sadie on her journey, you won't like what you find.
